Julie and Brian were married in February at the Old Mill Inn & Spa in Toronto. They did a fantastic job combining beautiful traditional wedding aspects with little hints of their love for the Dallas Cowboys. Their unique ceremony started with an opening prayer dedicated to the team, which had everyone laughing. Julie had promised the bridal party that they wouldn’t have to go outside in the cold, but I had other plans for them! We stayed close to the door and only brought out the people we needed for each image, so everyone else could stay warm while waiting for their turn – but I absolutely recommend doing at least a few outside photos no matter the weather on your wedding day :) Thanks to everyone for trusting me, and all the best to our newlyweds!

Loved Julie’s bouquet – a colourful arrangement with small hints of winter, including pinecones and silver.

A fun-filled reception, including the shoe game, and a hilarious (yet slightly incriminating) speech by the best man, whose wedding I photographed a few years ago. Thanks Matt and Hilary for passing my name along!

We snuck outside after dinner for some quick nighttime photos in the snow

Julie changed into her traditional red dress later in the evening and we captured a quiet moment in the bridal suite with the two of them.

It was a gorgeous afternoon for Ken and Karen’s outdoor ceremony at White Oaks Resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The sun was out just for them, beautifully backlighting the ceremony, before it gave way to clouds later in the day – which we also took advantage of in between courses at dinner. With having the whole day take place at the same venue, we had plenty of time to take lots of photos, and they even got to go back to their room and rest before joining their cocktail hour, while Monica and I went and photographed the details around the reception hall. It’s so nice to know you have time to get everything done without rushing!

Jill contacted me on more than one occasion about photographing her wedding, before she even had a date set… or had a fiancé! Luckily Ryan came through for us and I got to photograph their beautiful wedding day. They were married at Holy Family Parish in Whitby, and the reception took place at Deer Creek in Ajax. They chose a purple outdoor/woodsy theme for their colours and decor, and their delicious wedding cake was made by Katie, Jill’s sister and maid of honour. I definitely stole some cake at the end of the night, I’m not going to lie!

I loved being able to experience my first wedding with Jill’s family, after having photographed all her nephews and her little niece on various occasions, and having known the family since we were all kids ourselves. Thank you Jill and Ryan for entrusting me with your memories, and providing me with some of my own.
