Magazine Feature – Beautiful Beginnings Summer/Fall 2013

I’ve been so busy, I almost forgot! Kirk and Jess’s beautiful rainy day backyard wedding was recently featured in Beautiful Beginnings, which is a local bridal magazine. It’s free, so pick up a copy at your local wedding vendor’s location if you see it!

Check out page 36, and be sure to read their story as well. I love what they said about their “first look” (seeing each other in a special moment prior to the ceremony):

“The benefit to this is that we could then take pictures with our immediate family prior to the ceremony so guests didn’t have to wait a long time in between the ceremony and reception. We have been to a lot of weddings and we knew we didn’t want to make our guests wait for two or three hours. This worked out perfectly and we would highly recommend doing this.”

Thanks Kirk and Jess, for allowing your images to be shared :)

You can now see more from this wedding here.

Old Mill Toronto Wedding | Julie + Brian

Julie and Brian were married in February at the Old Mill Inn & Spa in Toronto. They did a fantastic job combining beautiful traditional wedding aspects with little hints of their love for the Dallas Cowboys. Their unique ceremony started with an opening prayer dedicated to the team, which had everyone laughing. Julie had promised the bridal party that they wouldn’t have to go outside in the cold, but I had other plans for them! We stayed close to the door and only brought out the people we needed for each image, so everyone else could stay warm while waiting for their turn – but I absolutely recommend doing at least a few outside photos no matter the weather on your wedding day :) Thanks to everyone for trusting me, and all the best to our newlyweds!

Loved Julie’s bouquet – a colourful arrangement with small hints of winter, including pinecones and silver.

The ladies looking classy, while the boys enjoy some pre-game drinks at the pub

Love this one from the top of the stairs looking down

A fun-filled reception, including the shoe game, and a hilarious (yet slightly incriminating) speech by the best man, whose wedding I photographed a few years ago. Thanks Matt and Hilary for passing my name along!

We snuck outside after dinner for some quick nighttime photos in the snow

Julie changed into her traditional red dress later in the evening and we captured a quiet moment in the bridal suite with the two of them.
