This adorable little guy gave his mama a tough time getting into this world, as the home water birth she had planned didn’t quite come to fruition. But once she held her tiny baby boy in her arms, everything else melted away and the details didn’t matter so much anymore. Looking into those big brown eyes, I couldn’t even be upset after he peed on me nearly every time I picked him up!

After having photographed their maternity session in their home, Benjamin’s session took place in the evening here at the studio, so I switched from my usual large window light (not much light at 5pm in february) to the studio lighting. It’s great being able to adapt to the various situations and lighting conditions. Dad didn’t have to take extra time off work, and mom didn’t have to travel in rush hour on her own from Toronto, plus I love to get those family photos as well whenever possible!
