Fall Family Sessions in Durham Region are now open for booking! Prime dates are filling up fast, and I can’t wait to see all your beautiful families during my most favourite time of year (visually that is, give me all the summer heat though!)
Why I Don’t Offer Fall MINI Sessions
With no strict time limits on sessions, I prefer to give each family the full session experience. There’s no rushing or stress, you get to play and snuggle with your family, and the kids get to have fun and explore. Everyone gets the perfect golden hour light, and images you’ll fall in love with again each time you walk past them on your walls.
Some kids take longer to warm up to the idea of having a photographer follow them around with a “big camera”. I want to make sure there’s no pressure on them to start acting cute immediately due to time constraints. That just causes parents to stress, and then your children can feel that energy as well.
Plus our goal is to actually make your family session fun! And yes, sometimes it might feel a little chaotic, but I promise if you just go with the flow, we’ll engage your kids in little games to get the beautiful photos we need, while letting them feel like they’re in charge.

In general, sessions are about an hour in length and done during the “golden hour” – a couple of hours before sunset. This gives a beautiful warm glow to the images and amazing light that only happens during this time. It also means no squinting in bright sun or unflattering shadows on your faces!
Wondering what to wear? I love jewel tones and traditional fall colours – think burgundy, rust orange, mustard yellow, emerald green, teal or navy blue. Check out my Pinterest Board for inpiration!
