I’ve been in the photography business for over 17 years now, and I’ve had photographers email or message me for advice on pricing and IPS since I started using this method about 9 years ago. It’s difficult to give specific advice without seeing the whole picture though, so I would love to learn more about your business and help you improve your sales average in a way that works for you. Everyone’s circumstances are different, but I truly believe that in-person sales will allow you to make more and work less, if that’s what you want!
We’ll discuss the ways you can communicate with your clients:
- introduce the IPS process to them
- teach them how it will benefit them too
- how to handle objections (or avoid them altogether!)
I’ll review your price list offer suggestions:
- making bigger profits
- making it easier for your clients to understand
- selling digital images AND printed images
- how you can implement IPS with new clients going forward
- how to transition your current clients, or know when to move on.
We’ll go over common objections and how to overcome them, and run through a mock sales session so you know how to implement your new plan, and practice before trying it with a real client.

- when to raise prices
- why, and how, to offer custom framing
- any other questions concerning pricing and IPS
You don’t need to be the best photographer in town to sell in-person, and you definitely don’t need to be good at “sales”. Trust me, I used to work in retail, and I’d hide when customers came in, because I hated feeling like a sleazy salesperson trying to push things on people just to reach some magical sales goal someone else decided we needed to hit. But that was when I was working for someone else, and didn’t see the financial rewards of my efforts (or lack thereof). Now, I realize that increased sales means a better life for me and my family, and meeting my own goals over the course of fewer sessions, means more time to spend with my family as well.

Who this is NOT for: if you already average over $1000 for a newborn session or you’re looking to scale to 10k sales, this isn’t for you. If you want training using ProSelect or N-Vu, this isn’t what I use, so this likely isn’t the best fit.
