In the Stevenson and Rossland, my Oshawa newborn studio is located in our bright walkout basement (though you will enter the house through the front door). The studio is kept nice and warm for baby’s comfort, and we usually begin with family and sibling photos, and baby with mom and dad individually. After family photos are complete, you’ll be able to sit back and relax in the client lounge as I photograph your little one. I may ask you to assist in spotting babe if an extra set of hands is needed for safety. You’ll have full view of everything and can move around the space.

Making it Easy

My Oshawa newborn studio is stocked with the following, to make things as easy as possible for you:

seating area for parents within the studio area
changing table stocked with Honest Company diapers and wipes
nursing pillow and cover available for comfort and privacy
hot water available for warming bottles
water, coffee, and snacks (often GF/DF options are available too)
lots of receiving blankets for swaddling or spit-up
bathroom with a natural hand soap, and hand sanitizer
WIFI so you can catch up emails, news, or social media while you’re relaxing as I photograph your little one

Blankets, wraps, headbands, bonnets, and other props and accessories are all provided. I pull out a selection of items based on your responses to the brief questionnaire you’ll fill out when scheduling your session. I will show you plan before we start the session to ensure we are on the same page and you like the options I have put together. Of course, if you have an heirloom piece or an item that’s important to you, we can work it into the images as well, but you don’t need to worry about anything else.

Peace of Mind

Your baby’s health and safety are top priority. In addition to being trained in newborn posing safety and infant CPR, we are conscious of maintaining an optimal environment throughout our home, and especially in the studio.

all fabrics (backdrop blankets and wraps) that touch baby during the session are washed in a non-toxic, plant-based laundry soap, free from artificial fragrances, even if they aren’t soiled, so they are fresh for every session.
I do not use any aerosol air fresheners or cleaning products containing artificial fragrances in my studio, or anywhere in my home (note: we do use high quality essential oils, though not in the studio while sessions are taking place)
I am trained in newborn safety and CPR certified
my hands are washed prior to your session and throughout as needed, and I can also wear a mask at your request
if anyone in my household is ill, I will contact you about rescheduling so your new baby isn’t exposed to any viruses

On the gallery wall, you will find examples of the absolutely stunning framing options available (the framed canvas is my personal favourite!) I also have a variety albums that you are welcome to flip through at any time, to get an idea of what your own baby’s album could look like. My collections all include printed artwork. Options include a keepsake box of matted prints, an beautiful heirloom album, and the gorgeous frames.
