Last month a couple of friends and I ventured out on a road trip to Chicago to learn from three of the best photographers in the industry at the Colossal workshop. I’ve been in photography in some capacity for nearly 15 years now, and lately I’ve been feeling a little bit like I’m just going through the motions and not pushing myself to try new things anymore, plus I’m always looking for tips on how to improve my workflow and business practices as well, as so much has changed since I first started.
One of the instructors was the fabulous Alli Peck from BC. She taught us a single light set-up for maternity, and her session flow to get multiple looks in less time. I actually had the opportunity to see Alli in the fall at another conference, and I passed it up because I was more excited about newborn and family photography at the time, but I’m SO glad I got another chance to see her.
I was feeling inspired, so I had this lovely lady join me for a studio maternity session where I tried out some of the techniques I had just learned.
And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, I tend to post there most often these days, and there will be a few more images from this session up there in the next few days.
