This lovely mama and I used to work together at the Pickering Town Centre fresh out of high school. She has been my go-to person whenever I need an assistant, and her oldest baby was one of the first that I photographed! He isn’t too fond of my camera these days, but it’s amazing what kind of smiles you can get out of him when he’s throwing crab apples mere inches from your head ;)

You may also recognize this family from the little video on the front page of my site! They were sweet enough to let my friend Jennifer come along and get some video of what a session with me can look like. You can even see Max’s progression from “not into it” to actual genuine smiles. I love that. I want the kids to have fun during our time together, and we’ll play games, have contests, throw things at my head, whatever it takes to create connection in a real way.
