I know you are putting so much care and thought into who you choose as your photographer. It feels a little strange and egotistical to list my credentials, though I feel like certain aspects of my experience will help to put your mind at ease, so I would like to share them with you here.
Education and Experience
I am one of the rare ones that went to school for photography, and graduated at the top of my class. After college I was fortunate to work with one of the most renowned Canadian portrait photographers of our time, learning so much about posing and lighting.
I have always believed in continuing education, and try to attend at least one conference or purchase an educational course or mentorship at least once per year.
I now have 15+ years of experience photographing couples, babies, kids, and families. One of the things I hear the most is how much PATIENCE I have. And it’s true. I will rock and bounce your babies, I will endure the toddler tantrums and try to find out what makes them tick so I can get the shots we need. I adore kids, and I love getting down on their level and playing silly games too.
Newborn Safety
When it came to newborn photography education I sought out the best in the industry – a newborn photographer teaching internationally who is also a physiotherapist and recognized as a leading expert in newborn safety. With this advanced training, I am aware of the potential risks involved with many of the popular newborn poses. In my studio, we do things safely, or not at all.
Your baby’s safety is a top priority.
I am currently a member of APNPI (Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International), meaning I have completed my Qualified Newborn Photographer training as well as a newborn safety course.
Accredited Newborn Photographer
With APNPI photographers have the opportunity to submit 12 images in each of 10 different categories to be judged for Accreditation. If Accreditation is achieved, it indicates that all 12 images were deemed “above average quality in photographic artistry”.
- Maternity
- Newborn Posed
- Newborn Environmental (outdoors)
- Macro Imagery (close-up images of all those adorable little details)

In addition to being a member of APNPI, I am also an Ambassador, Educator in their Academy, and judge in their competition/accreditation process for other members.

Photographer Mentoring and Speaking Engagements
I am also proud to help other photographers succeed, whether it’s 1:1, through my online classes and tools, or my speaking engagements with GTA Imaging in 2023, Shutterfest 2023, or WPPI 2024. I am so honoured to have been chosen to speak at these prestigious events in our industry.
