Featured Old Mill Toronto Wedding
Julie and Brian were married in February at the Old Mill Inn & Spa in Toronto. They did a fantastic job combining beautiful traditional wedding aspects with little hints of their love for the Dallas Cowboys. Their unique ceremony started with an opening prayer dedicated to the team, which had everyone laughing.
Julie had promised the bridal party that they wouldn’t have to go outside in the cold, but I had other plans for them! We stayed close to the door and only brought out the people we needed for each image, so everyone else could stay warm while waiting for their turn – but I absolutely recommend doing at least a few outside photos no matter the weather on your wedding day :) Thanks to everyone for trusting me! I wouldn’t insist unless I truly thought it was worth it, and my couples always agree in the end!

Wedding Ceremonies at The Old Mill Inn & Spa in Toronto
The indoor chapel here is candle-lit, surrounded by warm wood and brick textures (the brick has since been painted white), giving it a romantic old-world feel. While dim lighting isn’t the most photography-friendly environment, I was able to use a combination of techniques to ensure every moment was documented. If you’re booking your wedding here, make sure your photographer is comfortable using flash, and has experience working in low-light conditions. The last thing you want is blurry, out-of-focus pictures of your intimate wedding ceremony. Various ballrooms are also available for indoor ceremonies if you prefer.
During warmer months, you have the option of getting married outdoors in the beautiful and accessible Secret Garden or at the Guildhall Patio when you book your reception at the Guildhall Ballroom.

There are plenty of locations to choose from to host your reception, with various styles to suit the theme and style of your wedding!
This fun-filled reception included the shoe game, and a hilarious, yet slightly incriminating (as you might be able to tell by the groom’s reaction) speech by the best man. I actually photographed his wedding a few years prior. Client referrals always end up being great clients! Thanks Matt and Hilary for passing my name along!.jpg)
Even though it was a little chilly, we snuck outside after dinner for some quick backlit nighttime photos in the snow!

Julie changed into her traditional red dress later in the evening and we captured a quiet moment in the bridal suite with the two of them..jpg)
